1. Data controller

Ivo Tavares Studio Unipessoal Lda, headquartered in Aveiro, Portugal, tax ID (NIF) 509997791, is the controller responsible for processing personal data collected through Awarded Architecture.

2. Data collected

We collect the name, email, tax ID (for billing purposes) and, where applicable, phone number (for MB WAY payments) provided at the time of subscription. We also collect platform usage data, such as saved awards and notification preferences. If you report an award you won, we collect what you submit: the award, year and link, and, if you ask for the project to be featured, its name, location, description, photographs, and the names of the studio and the photographer. If you write a testimonial, we collect its text and, if you authorise it, your name, studio and country.

3. Purpose and legal basis

Data is processed to perform the subscription contract (account creation, billing, payment processing and sending alerts), based on Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. We also use your data to send you communications about your account and subscription (such as renewal reminders, a request for a testimonial, or a notice that your project has been published), based on our legitimate interest in keeping our customers informed (Article 6(1)(f)). Projects, photographs and testimonials are published based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time by asking us to remove them; where you name a photographer or a studio, we ask you to confirm that you have their permission. The content you authorise may be used on the website, our social networks and newsletters, as set out in the Terms of Use.

4. Sharing with third parties

Data is shared only with providers strictly necessary for the service to function: payment processing (ifthenpay), invoicing (TOConline), hosting and database (Supabase, in the European Union), website delivery and bot protection on forms (Cloudflare) and email delivery. Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, on the basis of the mechanisms provided for in the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions. We use Google Analytics to measure site usage (pages visited, traffic sources), with IP anonymization enabled. We may also use third-party advertising tools, such as Meta/Facebook Pixel, to measure campaign performance in the future — this section will be updated once that integration is activated.

5. Cookies

We use cookies essential to the platform's operation (user session) — these don't require consent under applicable law, only disclosure. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are only set after you actively consent via the cookie banner shown on your first visit. Until then, and if you decline, Google Analytics runs in Google's Consent Mode: it sends anonymous, cookie-less pings (no identifiers stored on your device) used only for aggregate, modelled traffic statistics. Any future third-party advertising tools such as Meta/Facebook Pixel only load after you consent. You can review or change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer.

6. Data subject rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, object to the processing of, and request portability of your data. You can exercise these rights by contacting [email protected]. The same applies to anyone named as an author, studio or photographer in a published project, even if they are not a user of the platform.

7. Data retention

Data is kept for as long as the account is active and for the period legally required for tax and accounting purposes after the account is closed. Projects and testimonials stay published until you ask us to remove them.

8. Complaints

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD) if you believe the processing of your data violates applicable law.
